Scope

'Four letters from P Fournier (in French) and one from Olwen Brogan (in English). Fournier was Archivist for the Department of the Puy-de-Dome and collaborated with Brogan, Christopher Hawkes and Emile Desforges on the article "Fouilles A Gergovie" (Excavations at Gergovia) published in Revue Archeologique, April-June 1935. Fournier\'s correspondence includes references to a dispute with the French painter, Maurice Busset, who had published what was regarded as erroneous material in connection with Gergovia (see D41/4/2/4).'
