Scope

As FJJ 027A1. Carvings on adjacent sloping surface of same boulder, facing into mouth of Pass. Preparation of surface by smoothing prior to carving.

Arrangement

Two cows, five antelope, three quadrupeds, cupmark, grooves, incised lines, pecking: On left of panel is pecked and incised outline of bovid, possibly a cow, facing right with large forward curving horn, grooves on body, pecking on back. Possible reworking of earlier incised image. Superimposed over incised outline of quadruped facing right with long thin neck and small head with two short horns or ears, possibly a giraffe. Superimposed over this earlier image is incised outline of possible cow facing right with forward curving horn curling round to forehead. Two deep U-shaped grooves cut through shoulder of cow, two incised lines cut across neck, incised line extending above horn. Below neck and partly superimposed over head of cow and neck of quadruped is incised outline of small antelope facing right with forward curving horns. Superimposed on neck of cow is incised outline of small quadruped facing right with long neck, head indistinct. Above neck of cow are incised outlines of two small antelopes facing right, one with backward curving horns> The larger antelope has short forward pointing horns, and large backward curving oryx horns added later. To the right is pecked sub-circular cup mark, faint incised lines (striations?) and several deep U-shaped grooves, with more recent incised lines superimposed. To the right is incised outline of an antelope facing right with long backward then upward and forward curving horns, possibly an addax. To the right of this is incised outline of antelope facing right with long backward pointing horns, possibly an oryx. To the right are several grooves. Mattingly et al (2003, 2007: 192)
