Scope

Large slab inside E-facing rock shelter at base of inselberg close to escarpment, at mouth of watercourses. Carvings on sloping upper surface.

Arrangement

Human, horse, quadruped, chariot, sandals, abstract, indeterminate, grooves, pecking, incised lines: Panel with numerous pecked and incised images, some superimposed. On bottom right of panel is pecked and incised chariot in profile with two wheels and small cart on base, possible shaft attached to left wheel. Above and right are U-shaped grooves, pecking and incised lines forming indeterminate shapes, including a possible quadruped facing right up the rock, and a broken sandal shape. To the left are incised lines forming indeterminate shapes, including a possible quadruped facing left, with long tail and indistinct head. Above is incised outline of human facing forward with double triangle body bifurcated by vertical line, tulip shaped head, arms bent, hands raised to shoulder height, one holding short linear object, small cupmarks at base of body triangle and in centre of lower triangle (genitalia?), legs indistinct. Incised lines above forming X symbols. Incised line and zigzag below, incised lines partly truncated forming indeterminate shape to the left. On bottom left of the panel is incised outline of horse in motion facing left. Two incised lines at head suggest (cow?) horns. Superimposed by pecking, incised lines and V-shaped grooves. Horse is superimposed over incised ovoid with internal line. Below horse is ovoid with incised internal herring bone diagonal lines and incised outline of quadruped facing left with long inward curving tail, possibly a feline. Long U-shaped groove runs round the edge of three sides of the panel, superimposing several images. The groove continues off the top edge, down and round the side of the panel, ending in a pecked circle. On right side of the panel on a lower bedding plane, mainly outside the encircling groove, are several incised grooves, and abstract and indeterminate images including two possible sandal outlines and an X symbol with small cupmarks at each terminus.
