Scope

Small cluster of large, badly exfoliated and fragmented boulders in embayment (Bird wadi) at base of escarpment. Carvings on less exposed lower face of boulder on overhanging surface.

Arrangement

Eight birds: Pecked outlines of eight birds facing right, including at least two ostriches, two possible flamingos and three possible mute swans. Three birds on top left of panel have long legs and long necks extended straight downwards as if grazing, middle bird has open beak and head backwards, in typical feeding pose of a flamingo. Below are three birds, possibly mute swans, are depicted as if swimming or floating. Heads and long necks are thrown back along body, beaks pointing upwards, long legs extended backwards behind the body. These birds are arranged around a hole in the boulder, as if swimming out of or around a conceptual lake. To the right are two larger gazing birds with long legs, small wings, and necks extended downwards. Back of right hand bird extends over top edge of panel. May reflect the locally varied waterfowl.
