Scope

Large (2m high), conspicuous boulder in wadi floor close to S edge of the escarpment, in dry river valley forming main access route leading to Hamada and Messak. Boulder is 20m from edge of stream bed, at junction of several tributaries. All four vertical surfaces of the boulder are carved. BOU032A carvings on near vertical surface. A large fragment of the carved panel surface has become detached and is now lying at the base of the boulder.

Arrangement

All four sides of the boulder are covered in numerous pecked engravings of animals, mainly bovids, depicted using similar technique and style. Many of the images are considerably eroded, making identification difficult. The majority of the animals are small, entirely pecked and depicted in Wallpaper style. The two larger animal (elephant) on BOU032C is slightly more naturalistic than the smaller animals. From the patina, all the images appear to be broadly contemporary, although the elephant is superimposed over bovid engravings.
