Arrangement

Barbary sheep, two dogs, ostrich, quadruped, abstract, hollows, polishing, pecking: Pecked outline of a Barbary sheep facing right with upward pointing horns curving outwards at ends. To the left and appearing to chase this is pecked outline of a dog with upright ears and curled tail. Pecking below. Above and partly superimposed by the Barbary sheep is the pecked outline of a quadruped facing left possibly with long horns and darker patina. Partly superimposing this image are three pecked heart-shaped, bifurcated images, possibly bovid hoof prints, each made with different implements. At SW end of panel is pecked image of an ostrich facing right with long neck, long legs and short, raised wings. To the left and apparently chasing this is pecked image of a dog facing right with upright ears, open mouth and curled tail. At least two shallow hollows with polishing and fine scratch marks. Pecking around these hollows, and abstract pecked shape. Figure 8.22a
