Scope

Large panel of outcropping rock forming part of upper cliff on southern side of ZIN spur. Four deep pecked ovoid holes, evenly spaced towards base of panel, possibly to remove surface or support structure. Carvings on vertical surface in several groups.

Arrangement

Human, four quadrupeds, ostrich, feet, hoof print, abstract, inscription, incisions: Left-hand group of carvings comprises pecked outline of ostrich in motion facing left, incised outline of male quadruped facing right with short upward pointing horns, pecked indeterminate images, possibly Libyan characters, and three pecked feet with well-defined toes. Two of the feet are cut by a deep pecked hole which is one of four evenly spaced holes arranged in a horizontal row across the panel, possibly beam supports or quarry marks. Right-hand group of carvings comprises a ground hoof print, possibly representing an antelope, an incised and pecked outline of human figure facing forward with circular head and raised arms bent at the elbows, one hand holding spear pointing downwards. Other incised lines form indeterminate images, possibly including at least one further human. To the right is incised outline of quadruped facing right with forward pointing horn and line across shoulder, and incised groove. Below are incised outlines of two quadrupeds facing right with upward pointing horns or ears, one possibly a dog or goat, a ground abstract shape and two ground grooves. Incised Arabic inscription on the upper portion of the panel. To the left of this panel, on underside of fallen boulder, is pecked outline of quadruped.
