Scope

'Series of photographic prints taken during expeditions to Sabratha during the late 1940s and early 1950s.', The photographs show a wide variety of aspects of the Sabratha site including Casa Brogan, the East Forum Temple, the Severan Monument, Capitolium, Cruciform Building, Basilica, Byzantine Walls, the Forum, cellars, vats and cisterns, among others.', The vast majority of the photographs within the series feature manuscript serial numbers or captions on verso.'

Arrangement

'Photographs are arranged by subject. The photographs were previously arranged into envelopes and files. As it is unclear who arranged these files (possibly Kenyon, Ward Perkins, Kenrick or Dore), they have been maintained within their original files to preserve any context that may be linked to their arrangement.'
