Scope

'These items had all been rolled together by a previous cataloguer and labelled "Gergovia - Plans". In reality, they include quite a few sketches, but the decision has been taken to keep them together. Some include scales and subjects include a regional plan of the Gergovian Plateau, the West Gate, the south defences, an enclosure with two temples and Aucler\'s Villa. There are some profiles, detailing the structural composition of ground layers, trench sections and plans showing numbered plots. As it was not always clear to which part of the site plans referred, they have been arranged into 3 groups according to their quality/detail headed respectively "Plans", "Sketches" and "Rough Sketches".'
